Comedian gets serious: Chris Tall surprisingly introduces his adoptive brother – and he tells of his bad childhood

Comedian Chris Tall has started his new podcast on RTL Musik. But instead of funny stories and gags non-stop, "Brüderherz" is about a very personal part of Christopher Nast, as the comedian is called. Tall only mentioned his adoptive brother Martin on Instagram for the first time in October – now he introduces him in more detail.

But before the podcast can really get started, Martin goes back a little and reports on his difficult childhood. Because Chris and Martin have not known each other their whole lives - Martin only came into the family later.

Martin reports that as a child he was severely abused and frequently beaten by his foster family. In the podcast he speaks of a "criminal offense" and reveals how he managed to break out of this negative spiral.

In his childhood, slaps in the face were still among the lighter offenses, says Martin. His foster mother laughingly whipped him when he was six years old with a horse crop, he reports. Only years later did he understand that this is not normal.

After all, it was one of his protective mechanisms that led him to Chris Tall, they say. Because even as a child, Martin understood that comedy – i.e. making others laugh – can protect him from worse things. He later met Chris Tall through this talent, he reports, because Martin has also performed on stages.

But although Martin only came into the family when Tall was already grown up, he now "occupies a huge part of my life", reveals Tall right at the beginning of the first episode. Accordingly, Martin reacts emotionally to the reactions that the brothers podcast evokes on social networks.

After the release of the first episode and the first letters, Martin spoke up: "I don't know how or what to say now. Sometimes I really have to put everything together so as not to cry on the spot. When people write to me that we "touched her heart". Shit. I really have to pull myself together typing at this moment. You share your stories so willingly.

In the coming weeks, the story of the two brothers should gradually become easier and later questions from viewers will also be included, which Chris and Martin want to answer. "Brüderherz" appears exclusively on RTL Musik every Sunday.
