Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020) is recognized for his performance in the Marvel series 'What If...?' honored with a posthumous Emmy Award. The "Creative Arts" awards were presented on Saturday. The actor, who died in 2020, was honored for the best voice-over performance. Boseman was nominated for an Emmy for the first time. "What if...?" is an animated series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The first season premiered on Disney in 2021.

In addition to Boseman, the category also featured F. Murray Abraham ("Moon Knight"), Julie Andrews ("Bridgerton"), Maya Rudolph ("Big Mouth"), Stanley Tucci ("Central Park"), Jessica Walter ("Archer" ) and Jeffrey Wright ("What If...?") nominated.

According to media reports, Boseman's wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the Emmy Award on behalf of the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles: "Chad would be so honored, and I'm honored on his behalf," said Ledward, among other things, about the award.

Boseman is best known for his role in the Marvel film Black Panther. He passed away in August 2020 at the age of just 43 after a long battle with colon cancer.
