"Celebrity Big Brother": The scandal of the most legendary "Ibes" season: Jay Khan comments on jungle love with Indira Weis

The fifth season of "I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!" still considered the best today. Unforgotten how (almost) the whole of TV Germany gathered in front of the TV sets on a Monday evening in January to watch how Sarah "Dingens" Knappik became persona non grata in the jungle camp.

One of the reasons at the time was Knappik's accusation that Jay Khan had contacted her before moving to the camp to stage a love story with her. Instead of hanging out with Knappik, Khan hooked up with singer Indira Weis at the camp. The two kissed wildly in the pond. But doubts about the liaison were sown at the latest when Khan looked offensively towards the camera when he caressed Weis.

The allegations that they had pretended to be a relationship in order to gain sympathy never completely stopped. Jay Khan is currently on Celebrity Big Brother. And of course the musician commented on what was probably the biggest scandal of his career. "I didn't exchange a syllable with this woman before I met her in the format," he said, adding that "the feelings [zu Weis] were real. We were in an extreme situation at the time and I just wanted to have a little fun to have".

It frustrates him that he is still being asked about it. "Celebrity Big Brother" roommate Jörg Knör judged pragmatically: "I wish that it can be put down at some point. I don't think so."

Most of the jungle camp viewers didn't buy Khan's version of the story at the time either. Instead, the "Ibes" fans saw how almost the entire camp gathered on the jungle phone and demanded Knappik's exclusion. Only Peer Kusmagk stayed back in the camp next to the bullied, who seemed to be the only one to realize what was going on. Too late for Knappik, who could no longer be saved. The pressure from others was so great that the then 24-year-old left the camp prematurely.
