As is well known, Theo Koll, head of the ZDF capital city studio, relies on decent British-style clothing - and for good reason: "When I'm the guest of so many people via TV in the evening, it's important to me that nobody touches the clothes disturbs," Koll told "stern" in an interview on the occasion of his 65th birthday on March 19.
Koll's trademark is the tightly buttoned tab shirt collar. "This British style is something of a uniform or of armour." It gives him a sense of security and has the advantage that he doesn't have to think much about clothing.
"I have 60 pairs of anthracite-colored knee socks from the same brand," says Koll. So he doesn't have to think about which socks to wear in the morning. "And if individual stockings are lost, I don't have to throw away the other one because sooner or later a second loner will be found."
Koll is looking forward to his 65th birthday with equanimity: "I received an award in my late 50s - for my life's work." That was "a first warning and mental preparation for aging".
Koll gladly accepts compliments that you don't look at his age. The ZDF journalist also attributes this to the influence of his wife: "She changed our diet to vegetarian many years ago."
