The British heir to the throne, Prince William, has called for more safety for children on the Internet. "Online security for our children and young people must be a basic requirement," the 40-year-old wrote on Twitter on Friday evening. He referred to the case of a 14-year-old girl who died a few years ago, which made headlines in the UK.
The girl's father, after completing an investigation into the case this week, said he hopes the case is an "important step towards much-needed change". Representatives of social media companies such as Pinterest and Meta had to be present in London to conclude the official investigation.
