British jungle camp: Breakfast in jeans and a shirt: Mike Tindall on life in the palace – and his royal love story

This year's British jungle camp "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!" is royal in the truest sense of the word. With former rugby player Mike Tindall, a royal by marriage is among the participants for the first time – and he is anything but reserved.

The husband of Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, sister of King Charles III, likes to entertain the other campers with risqué royal tales. He recently told how he accidentally presented his testicles to his mother-in-law. And his latest story also gives insights into life behind the palace walls.

Actor Owen Warner asked Tindall what it was like to live at Buckingham Palace. "Could you just go to breakfast in sweatpants and a t-shirt?" he asked the athlete. Sweatpants weren't in it, Tindall replied - but at least "jeans and a T-shirt" instead of a suit and tie.

But how did the royal love story actually come about? The participants of Tindall also want to know that. The most important question in this context: "Were you nervous when you met them?" Tindall denies what Warner in particular admires: "If I had talked to a girl and then found out that she was royal, I would have been nervous," says the actor.

Tindall knew from the start that Zara was part of the royal family because her mother, Princess Anne, is a patron of British rugby. That didn't unsettle the ex-sportsman, as he explains: "We were friends at first and because William and Harry were big rugby fans, we often saw each other with the family."

The lovers met at the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In 2004, the love between Mike and Zara became public, and on July 30, 2011, the wedding bells finally rang. Together they have three children.
