Berlinale talents: Östlund is planning a film about a long-haul flight without entertainment

Director Ruben Östlund (48) gave insights into his next film project. The title is "The Entertainment System is Down". The focus of the film is a long-haul flight, said Östlund on Monday evening at the Berlinale Talents series. "And pretty soon after takeoff, the crew tells all the passengers that (...) the entertainment system isn't working." So suddenly you have modern people who are used to scrolling around on small screens to get dopamine rushes and who are exposed to their boredom on a 17-hour flight.

The project has been reported on several times. According to Östlund, he likes to present his film ideas in order to get helpful feedback. His last film "Triangle of Sadness" was nominated for an Oscar several times.
