Ralph Huppertz brought a small glass figure to "Bares for Rares", it shows a beer-drinking bar waiter. "With the right lighting, there are special effects," emphasizes the 74-year-old from Düsseldorf. However, Horst Lichter does not have an eye for this at first. "A joke figure," exclaims the moderator when he sees the figure.

But first, Lichter is interested in his guest's job. Huppertz operates in the financial sector as a broker. "Oh you holy cannon barrel," the moderator exclaims. "I only know that from movies and from hearsay." He didn't want to ask any more questions, because that would certainly get you on edge more often. An impression that the deeply relaxed seller does not confirm.

Now to the figure: Colmar Schulte-Goltz explains that it is made of glass, mouth-blown, and particularly artful and whimsical. He dates the male to the late 1950s and early 1960s. It comes from the Czech town of Železný Brod, known for its glass production. He names the well-known artist Jaroslav Brychta as the author. Huppertz gives 50 euros as his desired price. But Schulte-Goltz goes well beyond that and estimates the value at 80 to 120 euros.

Esther Ollick immediately notices the character's red nose. "She's already had a few beers behind the bar," says Christian Vechtel. Julia Schmitz-Avila starts with 50 euros, the other dealers also participate. The highest bid comes from Ollick, who bid 120 euros. Then Broker Huppertz also refrained from playing poker and conceded: "That's not a bad price." The man from Düsseldorf goes home satisfied.
