The European Film Academy has awarded filmmaker Ruben Östlund for best director. The Swede accepted the award on Saturday evening in Reykjavik, Iceland. He was honored for his satire "Triangle of Sadness". The film tells of a luxury cruise that ends differently than planned. The production has been nominated several times at the European Film Awards, including Best Film.
