Superstar Adele is euphoric after the Emmy success with her special "Adele: One Night Only".

"Damn it, I'm really happy," wrote the British woman on Twitter at night (CEST) and showed a photo that showed the 34-year-old smiling happily with the coveted trophy from the US television academy. The televised special scooped up five trophies in all of the categories it was nominated for at the weekend's Emmy Awards. The artist also co-produced the concert, recorded at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.

The Emmys are the most important television awards in the USA. The winners in the main categories will be announced at a gala in Los Angeles on September 12th. The first awards in various technical and creative categories will be presented beforehand.

"Believe me, I officially have an EGO," wrote the Brit, not only alluding to her self-confidence: the award also brought her closer to the small circle of EGOT prizewinners, those artists such as Audrey Hepburn, who an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony have won all four major US entertainment trophies. Adele is still missing a Tony Award for a theater or musical project.
