Every parent's greatest fear has become a sad reality for famous British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The 75-year-old tweeted the death of his son Nicholas Lloyd Webber: "I am devastated to announce that my beloved eldest son Nick passed away a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital. His whole family is gathered and we are everyone completely stunned."

According to Variety, Nicholas Lloyd Webber died at the age of 43 from complications from stomach cancer he was diagnosed with around 18 months ago. He is survived by his wife, Polly Wiltshire, whom he married in 2018. Just a few days ago, his father announced in an Instagram video that his son was admitted to a hospice after he developed pneumonia as a side effect of his cancer.

Nicholas Lloyd Webber was born on July 2, 1979, his mother is Andrew Lloyd Webber's first wife Sarah Hugill, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1983. Like his famous father and grandfather William Lloyd Webber, he worked as a composer, including for films and series such as the BBC production "Love, Lies and Records". He was nominated for a Grammy for co-producing the recording of the London production of Cinderella.
