ARD telenovela: He was part of it for almost 16 years – now Joachim Lätsch is leaving "Storm of Love"

For fans of the ARD telenovela it is hard to imagine life without it. Joachim Lätsch is a permanent member of the ARD telenovela "Sturm der Liebe". But now the actor is giving up his role as chef André Konopka. The 66-year-old confirmed this to the "Bild" newspaper. "In the TV role, I'm moving to my son's winery in South Africa, I can tell you that much," announces Lätsch.

He has been part of the Fürstenhof since December 2007, i.e. for almost 16 years. But now cook Greta Bergmann, played by Laura Osswald, is supposed to replace him from episode 4013. The episode is expected to air in mid-April. "I thought about saying goodbye for a long time, discussed it with my family," explains Lätsch. "I really had a great time, was employed at Bavaria Studios, shot every day and earned well." He wants to try other roles, and a directing position "would be an option".

It was already announced in mid-February that Laura Osswald would complement the ensemble of "Storm of Love". At the time, April 14 was said to be the expected broadcast date of their debut episode. The character André Konopka has recently spent time in South Africa. At that time there was already talk of the chef leaving the hotel restaurant to open his own restaurant in South Africa. But a final farewell to Lätsch was not announced.

Laura Osswald is looking forward to her new job. "I am and will remain a serial child," said the actress at the time. With her character she connects the "passion for cooking and the ability to go through life independently". Osswald had her first regular appearances after the turn of the millennium as a student nurse in "Alphateam - Die Lebensretter im OP" and as a student Cara in "Schoolgirl". She became even better known from 2005 with a leading role in "Verliebt in Berlin". Most recently, the Munich resident had guest roles in "Der Alte" and "Kroymann".
