Alleged manners on the set: is Johnny Depp screwing up his comeback?

Johnny Depp (59) is trying to regain a foothold in Hollywood after his public mud fight with ex-wife Amber Heard (36). But the shooting of his latest project, the French film "Jeanne du Barry", is said to have been anything but good. The actor is said to have clashed with director Maiwenn Le Besco (46).

The French presenter and actor Bernard Montiel (65) explained on the talk show "Touche pas à mon poste!" that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star had argued with Maiwenn Le Besco due to time problems. "It's going very, very badly. They don't get along at all, they yell at each other all the time," Montiel explained when discussing the time during filming. The film is currently in post-production.

"Johnny Depp is an excellent actor when he comes on set," continued Montiel. "Only sometimes the team is ready at 6 a.m. and nobody shows up." The director was then angry. "And the next day it's her who doesn't come and Johnny Depp is there," he added. "It's madness."

Jeanne du Barry is Johnny Depp's first film after the actor won the defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. As "Deadline" reported in August, the eleven-week shoot began at the end of July. Depp takes on the role of King Louis XV of France in the film. (1710-1774). The production company Why Not Productions has already published a first photo of the 59-year-old in his role. On it he can be seen with a long white wig and a white powdered face.

Maiwenn Le Besco will play alongside Depp, one of the French king's last mistresses, Jeanne du Barry (1743-1793). The film is slated to hit theaters in 2023.
