After the death of her daughter: Priscilla Presley wants to protect grandchildren

On February 1, Lisa Marie Presley, who died suddenly in mid-January this year, would have turned 55. Priscilla Presley (77) took the birthday as an opportunity to pay tribute to her daughter and make a promise to her grandchildren. Regarding a series of pictures showing Lisa Marie as an infant through to adulthood next to her mother, Priscilla Presley wrote: "Today would have been Lisa's 55th birthday. My wish is to protect my three grandchildren and to keep our family together."

Then Priscilla remembers the first moments she was able to share with her daughter: "From the moment I held Lisa in my arms, I protected, loved and guided her, just as I did with my son Our hearts are broken and I must learn to live without my only daughter." Thank you to the many people who have expressed their condolences to you and your family.

The exact cause of Lisa Marie Presley's death remains unclear. Her body was examined on January 14, two days after her death, but the cause of death could not be determined. The coroner requested further examinations and additional tests. "Once the tests come back, the doctor will re-evaluate the case and determine the cause of death," the coroner's spokesman said, according to CNN.

On January 22, Priscilla Presley and rock 'n' roll icon Elvis Presley (1935-1977) had a memorial service in honor of their only child together at Graceland, Memphis. Here, too, Priscilla Presley addressed emotional words to those present. "I'm going to read something my granddaughter wrote for you all now and that says it all," the 77-year-old began.

"I have no idea how to put my mom in words. The truth is there are too many. Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero for many people around the world, but mom was my icon , my role model, my superhero - in more ways than one. Even now I can't convey everything there is to understand or know about her, but like she always said, I'll do my best."
