Valtteri Bottas, who in the year being number two in the Formula 1 WORLD championship, came Thursday with a surprising announcement.

The 30-year-old finn must be separated from his wife, Emilia. The he writes in an honest posting on his Facebook profile:

"We are separated because of the challenges of my career and life situation causes, and we think it is the best for both of us and our future. We part as friends," says Bottas in an official statement.

the Pair were married for just three years ago, but have been together since 2010.

the 27-year-old Emilia is one of Finland's best swimmers and has represented Finland at the OLYMPICS in both 2008, 2012 and 2016.

"I will always be Emilia grateful for everything she has sacrificed for me, and for the support she has provided over many years," he says further.
