Seven years after the Ukrainian weightlifter Oleksiy Torokhtiy was the olympic champion in London, the gold is been taken from him.

It informs The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on its website.

The now 33-year-old ukrainer participated in the 105 kg class at the OLYMPICS in 2012, as he ended up winning. But a reopening of his dopingprøve have shown traces of the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosteron.

the IOC's disciplinærkomité informs that Oleksiy Torokhtiy has been disqualified and must return his medal, a diploma and a pin back to the IOC.

Ukraine's Olympic Committee must ensure that the judgment is executed.

the IOC began in 2016 to re-open the tests from the OLYMPICS in 2008 in Beijing and four years later in London and test them with the improved methods. Torokhtiy is the fifth gold medalist in weightlifting, who have been deprived of the medal.

the Threat was, however, removed in march and The International Vægtløftningsforbund (IWF) are subject to stricter requirements.
