The singers Patti Smith and Martyrdom, the actress Rossy de Palma and photographers Chema Madoz and Alberto García-Alix is part of the group of 24 celebrities who have been announced this Friday as the winners of the gold medals for Merit in the Fine Arts corresponding to 2019 by the Spanish Government.
The awards are distinguished personalities who have excelled in the field of artistic and cultural creation. Also granted to those who have provided "notorious" services in the promotion, development and dissemination of art and culture, or in the conservation of artistic heritage. The awards have been nominated by the minister of Culture and Sport-in-office, José Guirao, and approved by the council of ministers.
