Emanuel Ungaro came from an Italian family, who had immigrated to France.

The French fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro is dead in Paris, 86 years, informs his family.

Ungaro, who was known for both fashion design and perfumes, died Saturday after two years with 'impaired health', says a member of the family to the AFP news agency.

He retired in 2004.

Ungaro was born in southern France in 1933.

the Family were immigrants from Italy and they moved to Paris in 1956, where he was trained with the Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga.
