CAS must deal with Russia's four-year quarantine

Wada chose 9. december to exclude Russia in four years. Russia disagrees with the decision, which CAS must process.

The International court of arbitration for sport (CAS) to determine whether Russia's exclusion from all international sporting events in the four years shall stand.

The International anti-doping agency (Wada) selected 9. december to exclude the russians, but on Thursday announced Russia's anti-doping agency (Rusada), that it does not agree with the decision, writes the news agency Tass.

It means that Wada shall report the matter to the CAS.

the Decision from Wada was justified to Russia from a laboratory in Moscow has tampered with dopingdata, which was sent to the Wada.

the Penalty will mean that Russia as a nation miss out on among other things, the summer OLYMPICS in 2020 and the winter OLYMPICS in 2022.

the Matter should be settled in CAS's court of first instance and will be officially submitted to the court within 10 to 15 days. Then waiting for a casework of unknown duration.

- the Ball will be on Wadas side, and the situation will develop within the legal framework, says Alexander Ivlev, head of the Rusadas board of supervisors, according to Tass.

the President of Rusada, Yuri Ganus, has previously said that it would be pointless to appeal the judgment of Wada.

- There is no chance of winning this case in court, said Ganus 9 december.

Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, has previously called Wadas decision for the "politically motivated", and at a news conference Thursday, he demands that the country can compete under their own flag.

- in my opinion, is the decision (whether to the exclusion, ed.) not only unfair, but it also goes against common sense.

- Wadas decision contradicts the olympic statutes. If there is a legal claim against The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), the national teams compete under the national flag, says the president, according to Tass.
