Christmas is, for most of a merry season and for many the love feast.
Probably for this same reason, is the people behind the Auschwitz Memorial museum deeply offended.
the Outcry is rooted in several julepynte products, as they have been found in the e-handelsgiganten Amazon. Here are christmas ornaments with images from the most notorious extermination camp Auschwitz.
'It seems inappropriate to sell christmas ornaments with the pictures of Auschwitz. It is also very disturbing and disrespektfuldt with an Auschwitz-øloplukker,' writes the museum's Twitter profile.
Then it calls on Amazon to remove the infringing products from the website.
It seems to have worked.
the uk metro.co.uk informs a spokesperson from Amazon:
'All vendors must follow our salgsretningslinjer, and this will have consequences for those who do not.'
Then, says he, that you have removed the products from the website.
on Monday morning, writes the museum that Amazon also has removed a number of other offensive products that have pictures of Auschwitz.
'Thank you to all of you who have supported us and put pressure on Amazon here.'
