95th Academy Awards: Lady Gaga's Oscar appearance: One should see "true Gaga".

At the Oscars, singer and actress Lady Gaga (36) performed her song "Hold My Hand" without make-up because the song was very important to her. The award show's producer, Glenn Weiss, explained this and gave the "Hollywood Reporter" further details: "She really wanted to get to the heart of the song and not as an 'Oscar performance', but to present it in a very personal way. And that's exactly it what we were trying to capture."

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, his colleague Ricky Kirshner added: "We got a text saying she wanted to try something but didn't have time to put on a big performance and she wanted it to be unadulterated and people see the real Gaga." But with a voice like that, you don't need much more than that.

Lady Gaga was originally not scheduled to appear at the Oscars this year. In the end she sang and stood on stage in jeans, a T-shirt and apparently without make-up - after she had previously been seen on the champagne-colored carpet with an evening gown and striking make-up.

The American was nominated for Best Movie Song with "Hold My Hand" from the film "Top Gun: Maverick", but lost to "Naatu Naatu" from the Indian film "RRR".
