Shirin David, Ronan Keating, Giovanni Zarrella and Bill and Tom Kaulitz will fight for the best talent on “The Voice of Germany” from September 21st (every Thursday on ProSieben and Fridays on Sat.1). The new coaches on the red chairs bring with them plenty of music and jury experience.
This time “The Voice of Germany” will be particularly international with Ronan Keating. The Irish superstar became known in the early 90s with the boy band Boyzone, which was formed during a singing casting. In 1999 the band took a break and Keating successfully pursued his solo career, in which he scored the hit "When You Say Nothing At All".
Boyzone celebrated a comeback in 2007 and released the album "Thank You and Goodnight" in 2019 before announcing the band's end after a world tour. Keating also remained present on TV over the years; from 2010 to 2014 he was a judge on the Australian edition of the talent show “The X Factor”. In 2016 he was one of the coaches on the Australian edition of “The Voice”. In 2022, the Irishman coached young talents on “The Voice Kids” in the UK.
Shirin David began her career with a successful YouTube channel, which she started in 2014. This also earned her a job as a juror in the 14th season of “DSDS,” which aired in 2017. Her debut album “Supersize” was released in 2019 and landed at the top of the album charts. Before that, she rapped her way to the top of the charts with her second single “Gib Him”.
This was followed by awards such as the Bambi and in 2021 her second album “Bitches need Rap”. In the same year, David, who has around 6.3 million Instagram followers, was one of the candidates in Joko Winterscheidt's quiz show "Who is stealing the show from me?".
In 2001, the Italian musician Giovanni Zarrella started his career as a member of the "Popstars" winning band Bro'Sis. Before that, he completed an apprenticeship as an IT systems clerk. The band existed until 2006 and Zarrella remained present through various TV appearances, including the docu-soap "Just married!" with his wife Jana Ina Zarrella, whom he married in 2005, or participation in various Raab shows and the RTL dance show "Let's Dance".
As a presenter, he presented formats from DSF, RTLzwei and ProSieben until he hosted “The Giovanni Zarrella Show” for the first time on ZDF in 2021. This was followed in 2022 by a German television award for moderating his own show. He was also successful as a solo artist after Bro'Sis, reaching the top of the charts with two albums and receiving multiple platinum and gold awards.
The twin brothers Bill and Tom Kaulitz became famous in 2005 with their band Tokio Hotel and their hit “Über den Monsun”. Bill Kaulitz previously took part in the casting show “Star Search” and was eliminated in the round of 16. After the growing success of the band, which also includes Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing, and public pressure, the twins moved to Los Angeles in 2010. The band most recently released the album “2001” in 2022, named after the year they were founded.
In 2013 they joined “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. You were part of the jury in the tenth season of the casting show alongside pop titan Dieter Bohlen and Mateo Jasik. In May 2023 they launched their music show “That’s My Jam with Bill
