According to the latest count conducted by the Agence-France Press, Thursday, August 13, the new strain of coronavirus, responsible for the Covid-19, has now killed 750 003 people in the world. Latin America, the region most affected

Latin America and The Caribbean region of the world most affected in number of deaths (228 572) and case (5 822 258), are still in the rapid progression of the pandemic with 18 627 new death of the Covid-19 recorded its last seven days. Following the Canada and the United States (8 025), Asia (7 807), Africa (2 654), Europe (2 575), Middle East (2 162) and Oceania (106).

In total, behind Latin America, Europe identified 214 605 deaths per 3 433 815 cases, followed by Canada and the United States (175 082 deaths, 5 318 592 cases), Asia (75 896 deaths, 3 709 662 cases), and the Middle East (31 182 deaths, 1 283 377 cases). Africa (24 272 deaths, 1 075 589 cases), the continent the least affected after Oceania (394 deaths, 24 of 391 cases), has recorded more than half of its people since the 6 July.

The United States are the countries which recorded the most new deaths over the last week (7 979), ahead of Brazil (6 945), India (6 296), Mexico (4 968) and Colombia (2 213). Among the hardest-hit countries, Belgium is the one that suffers the most number of deaths relative to its population, with 85 deaths per 100 000 inhabitants, followed by the United Kingdom (69) Peru (66), Spain (61), and Italy (58).
