On Monday 10 August, the Parisians were obliged, by a decree, to wear a mask in places outside of the capital. And for good reason : according to the deputy director general of the regional agency of health Île-de-France, Nicolas Péju, "we are in an early rebound of the epidemic" of Covid-19, reports Le Parisien.
The log states that the number of patients tested positive for the coronavirus in the region francilienne has surged since mid-may : he went from 200 cases per day to 100 at the end of June, up to nearly 500 today. "The massive increase and actual number of tests is not sufficient to explain the evolution of the situation ", also underlines Nicolas Péju. The Parisian note, further, that in the last fifteen days, the number of PCR tests performed increased by 60 % in the Île-de-France, but that the number of cases detected increased by 140 %.
This is also the observation made by the doctor of public health Martin Blachier. "Yes, we see a slight increase of the circulation of the virus. In the Île-de-France, a region dense with a lot of interactions, it is quite logical ", he explains, while calling to look at the " overall indicators ", among which the pressure on hospital services. On this plan, the epidemiologist notes that" he did not spend a great deal of alarming, and for good reason, it is mainly the young who catch it today ". Nicolas Péju, him, said, " the goal is to reverse the trend as quickly as possible and to strengthen prevention for the rebound that does not turn into the beginning of the second wave ".
