Mama June Shannon is newly married.

42-year-old Mama June: Road to Redemption actress wed Justin Stroud on March 23, at a Georgia courthouse. E! E!

The Sun reported the news first.

"We have known each other for over a year. She said that they were best friends and she decided to move on to the next eight months. He would send sweet messages asking, "Hey, how're you doing?" I hope you're having an amazing day. I fell in love with Justin because of the small things.

Shannon said, "Justin's an amazing person. He understands what I've been through." He has allowed me to share things with me that I have never been able share with anyone else, not even my children. It's been great to have that partnership."

This is the first marriage of the WE tv reality star. His past relationships have been controversial.

Shannon was linked with Mark McDaniel in 2014, which led to the cancellation of her TLC series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. June's 8-year-old daughter Anna told PEOPLE that McDaniel had been a victim since she was 8. PEOPLE reported that McDaniel "would try to touch [her] and all the stuff" while he was dating her mother.

Shannon was accused of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia while she was dating Geno Doak. She allegedly had crack cocaine on her and a crack pipe. Doak was also charged with third-degree domestic abuse, possession of controlled substances and possession drug paraphernalia. Doak later confessed that she and Doak were addicted to meth at a rate of $2,500 per day.

Shannon shared on Instagram that she had been sober for six months in August 2020. She wrote, "It's probably most proud thing I'm of."
