PIGEON FORGE (Tenn.) -- Motley Crue singer Vince Neil broke his ribs in an accident on Friday at a concert in Tennessee. His guitarist shared the story with the crowd via a viral video that was widely circulated on social media.

Neil can be seen on video clapping at an edge of the stage, his guitar around his neck before he falls.

Later, the guitarist told the crowd about Neil's injury at the Monsters on the Mountain music festival.

Neil was the headline act at the three-day music festival. He was not with Motley Crue, but with his band.

The guitarist revealed that Vince had fallen and broken his ribs. He said, "Now that is a pain for us all. He was so happy to be here. He lives in Tennessee."

Eddie Trunk, host of the music festival tweeted Friday that Neil was admitted to the hospital.

Saturday's update on his condition was not immediate. Neil's agency did not respond to a telephone message or email requesting an update.
