After breaking her leg while horseback riding, Lisa Vanderpump , a former star of " Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", gave updates to fans.

Vanderpump, aged 61, posted photos of flowers that she received while she was recovering on Instagram.

After breaking her leg in four places, the reality TV star underwent surgery.

"Thanks for all your kind words and beautiful flowers. I'm doing much better now that my surgery is over!" she added to the caption. "I have four fractures in my leg, and I have a severely bruised back. But I am on the right track to recovery!" "I will soon be back on the horse of life!"

According to TMZ, her horse got scared and reared up, which caused her to buck her off at The Paddock in Los Angeles on Jan. 30.

Eyewitnesses told the outlet that the 61 year-old flew over the horse's head, landing squarely on her back. Her husband Ken Todd, a British restaurateur, was also there.

TMZ was told by Todd that Vanderpump may not ride again after the accident.

"I think that maybe that was her last ride," Todd , 76, told the outlet. "I wouldn’t allow her to ride again."

Todd said that the horse was "gentle" and had been "amazing" before.

He said, "I was there." "When I saw her being thrown off, it was unbelievable to me. I was shocked. I ran to her, and she was on the ground. She knew she had broken her leg immediately."

According to Todd, Vanderpump's recovery will take between eight and ten weeks. She will need to be involved in physical therapy.

Vanderpump is well-known for her passion for animals. In 2016, Vanderpump and Todd founded a nonprofit for dog rescue.
