The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will be 167.06 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) tomorrow, Sunday, which will mean a drop of 12.3% compared to 190.5 euros this Saturday, according to the Latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), collected by Servimedia.

In this way, the price of electricity in the wholesale market will chain eight days below 200 euros, after exceeding said threshold during the previous six consecutive days.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the minimum price will be registered between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with 65.34 euros, and the maximum between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., when the figure of 225.88 euros per MwH will be reached.

Compared to Sunday of last week, when the average cost was 193.98 euros, the price will be 13.8% lower, while compared to 187.27 euros a month earlier, on May 12, electricity will be 10.8% cheaper.

On the other hand, compared to the 77.6 euros per megawatt hour registered a year ago, on June 12, 2021, the price of electricity will be 115.2% higher.

The prices of the 'pool' have a direct impact on the regulated rate --the so-called PVPC--, to which almost 11 million households in the country are covered, and serve as a reference for the other 17 million who have contracted their supply in the free market.
