The price of electricity in the regulated market drops to 37 cents per kilowatt hour (€kWh) this Thursday, but the cheapest section will be especially short. Specifically, the hours in which electricity will cost less will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The rest of the day will be peak or off-peak hours.

The average price of electricity for regulated rate customers linked to the wholesale market will drop 3.08% this Thursday compared to this Wednesday, to 273.43 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), for which it falls again after chain three consecutive rises.

This price for PVPC customers is the product of adding the average price of the auction in the wholesale market to the compensation that the demand will pay to the combined cycle plants for the application of the 'Iberian exception' to cap the price of gas for the generation of electricity.

In the auction, the average price of electricity in the wholesale market -the so-called 'pool'- will stand this Thursday at 149.86 euros/MWh, which is 2.89 euros less than the price for today (152, 75 euros/MWh) and a decrease of 1.89%, according to data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Europa Press.

The maximum price of electricity for this June 23 will be registered between 00:00 and 01:00, with 186.5 euros/MWh, while the minimum for the day, of 124.32 euros/MWh, will be between 18:00 and 7:00 p.m.

To this price of the 'pool' is added the compensation of 123.57 euros/MWh to the gas companies, compared to 129.37 euros/MWh this Wednesday. This compensation must be paid by the consumers who benefit from the measure, the consumers of the regulated rate (PVPC) or those who, despite being in the free market, have an indexed rate.
