The world of interest rates in Germany is divided: while some new and direct banks are once again attracting customer deposits with interest rates of two or even three percent, many branch banks are still more or less stuck in the zero-interest phase. However, these institutes will not be able to withhold interest from their savers for much longer: "I expect a significant movement in deposit rates in the next three months," says Oliver Geiseler, senior partner at Capco, a management consultancy specializing in banking, in an interview with Capital.
