The German stock market was initially weaker on Tuesday. In the first few minutes of trading, the leading index Dax fell by 0.05 percent to 14,440.95 points. It thus stayed within the consolidation range that has been in effect since mid-November. It hit another high since June on Friday at 14,584 points and weakened at the beginning of the new week.

The MDax for medium-sized stocks was down 0.24 percent on Tuesday morning at 25,840.90 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 lost 0.07 percent to 3953.80 points.
