The German stock market came under pressure during trading on Wednesday despite improved economic prospects. The mood in the German economy improved again at the beginning of the year, but the Ifo business climate did not rise quite as strongly as expected in January.

The Dax turned negative after the Ifo data and was temporarily listed below 15,000 points again. Most recently, the leading index lost 0.40 percent to 15,032.44 points. The MDax for medium-sized companies fell by 0.33 percent to 28,471.69 points. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index in the eurozone, fell by around 0.5 percent.
