Stock exchange in Frankfurt: Dax still in the plus

Positive targets from overseas drove the Dax after the long Easter weekend. In the USA, where trading had resumed the day before, the stock exchanges reacted to the labor market report published on Good Friday with slight price gains. Most Asian equity markets followed the upside impulses this morning.

In Germany, the leading German index rose by 0.67 percent to 15,702.83 points in early trading on Tuesday. A few days before Easter, the Dax had reached its highest level since January 2022 at just under 15,737 points. The MDax of medium-sized stock market stocks rose by 1.20 percent to 27,523.97 points on Tuesday. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 rose by 0.64 percent to 4337.10 points.

On Tuesday, investors mainly focused on individual stocks from the MDax and SDax. First and foremost, it was Hellofresh and Adtran that drew attention. The food supplier's paper jumped to the top of the MDax with a plus of 5.0 percent after the US bank JPMorgan raised the Hellofresh share by two notches from "underweight" to "overweight".

On the other hand, the US telecom supplier Adtran, which can also be found in the MDax, was disappointing with its first quarter. According to preliminary figures, both the company's own targets and the expectations of the analysts, both in terms of sales and profits, were clearly missed. Adtran shares fell 10.0 percent. In the SDax, in which the 70 smaller companies below the MDax can be found, the shares in the German telecom equipment subsidiary Adva also fell by almost three percent. They were also bottom of the index.

Thyssenkrupp's shares in the MDax rose by 3.6 percent. They benefited from renewed fantasies about the marine division of the industrial group. A retailer rated media reports about an imminent decision on the future of the division as slightly positive. The bidding process for the division could possibly begin this week.
