The recent brisk recovery of the Dax is over for the time being. The slight setback from the previous day continued in early trading on Thursday. The leading German index lost 0.59 percent to 12,666.02 points.

The MDax fell by 0.27 percent to 22,922.71 points. The EuroStoxx also trended weaker after the recovery on the US stock exchanges had already come to an end the previous evening.
