The German stock market was initially weaker on the shortened last trading day of the year. After gains on the previous day, the leading German index Dax fell by 0.61 percent to 13,985.64 points in the first few minutes of trading on Friday. The MDax of medium-sized companies fell by 0.38 percent to 25,340.28 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 lost 0.63 percent to 3825.70 points. The trading volume on the stock exchanges was low.
