The Dax more than made up for its trading losses on Wednesday. At the close of the stock market, the leading German index rose by 0.08 percent to 15,895.20 points, maintaining its highest level since January 2022. The MDax for medium-sized companies contained its decline to 0.29 percent at 27,892.99 points. The local market thus followed the leading US stock exchanges, which were able to contain their initial losses.

The leading eurozone index, the EuroStoxx 50, ended trading unchanged in percentage terms. In the end, Paris posted a moderate plus, while London posted a small minus. The New York leading index Dow Jones Industrial lost only 0.4 percent at the end of trading in Europe.
