Over a third of employees in hotels, restaurants and catering cannot imagine working there much longer. This is the result of a survey by the food, pleasure and inn trade union in which around 4,000 people took part.

"So we have to reckon with the fact that even more employees will leave the industry if countermeasures are not taken," said Guido Zeitler, chairman of the union, when the figures were presented. The hospitality industry needs a "real restart".

During the Corona crisis, many waiters, cooks and receptionists looked for new jobs. Around 70 percent of those surveyed stated that the number of employees in their company had fallen.
