In Germany, the most complex bill has been pending for decades: Due to the property tax reform, 36 million properties including houses, apartments as well as forestry and agricultural businesses are being revalued. The owners must submit a separate tax return to the tax office. And here the devil is in the detail: Because the reform is being implemented inconsistently across the country, different data is required depending on the federal state. Nevertheless, owners have to fight their way through, because if you hand in too late, you have to expect a late payment surcharge.
