New: Opel Grandland GSe: a new addition to the family

The two sporty extras of all-wheel drive and power hybrid were already expected from the Opel Astra GSe, but the compact class model has to make do as a plug-in hybrid with front-wheel drive and 165 kW / 225 hp. The Opel Grandland GSe gets a slightly different exterior and the GSe signet as a result of the model upgrade, but its performance data is unchanged compared to before. For example, the Opel Grandland GSe offers a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo with double electric support, which offers 221 kW / 300 hp, which is transmitted to both drive axles. From a standing start, the mid-size crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h. In purely electric mode, with the electric motors on the front and rear axles, it can reach speeds of up to 135 km/h and can cover almost 60 kilometers without using a combustion engine. The standard consumption: 1.3 liters Super per 100 kilometers. “The new Opel Grandland GSe is extraordinarily dynamic, powerful and stylish. We are sure that it will attract customers who not only want to drive an electrified SUV, but one with an even sportier drive system," says Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

Although the performance has not been given a second look by the GSe logo, Opel fans can look forward to a modified suspension and steering setup. Equipped with McPherson struts on the front axle and a multi-link rear axle, stiffer springs and dampers with electronic control are used, which can flexibly adapt to the situation. Sports seats, 19-inch aluminum rims, Alcantara equipment and, if desired, a black bonnet like the former GSE models ensure a sporty feeling. In terms of price, it should start at around 55,000 euros.
