According to the Heinrich Böll Foundation, pesticides can not only cause acute poisoning, but can also trigger chronic diseases. Scientific studies show a connection between pesticides and Parkinson's disease and childhood leukemia. In addition, pesticides are associated with an increased risk of liver and breast cancer, type II diabetes and asthma, allergies, obesity and endocrine disorders. Malformations, premature births and growth disorders can also be attributed to contact with pesticides.
