With 24 million overnight stays in January, the business of hotels and other accommodation establishments in Germany grew. The number meant an increase of 48.3 percent compared to the same month last year, which was still affected by Corona, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office. The level of the pre-crisis month of January 2020 was missed by 10.5 percent. Above all, guests from abroad are still missing. Despite a sharp increase, their number was almost a quarter (23.2 percent) below the pre-crisis figure. Overnight stays in establishments with at least ten beds are taken into account.
