Fascination: Vanwall Vanderwell S Plus : Off to the road

Colin Kolles, former Formula 1 team boss, is now bringing the Vanwall brand onto the road for the first time with the Vanvell S and then electric. The Vandervell S and its stronger brother Vandervell S Plus are named after the British industrialist Tony Vandervell, who founded the Vanwall brand in 1951. Up until now, Vanwall has made a name for itself with racing and touring cars. Just a week ago, the Floyd Vanwall Racing Team received confirmation from the FIA that it would take part in the WEC 2023 and thus also for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Vanwall Vandervell 680 hypercar is driven in the Le Mans series by drivers Tom Dillmann, Esteban Guerrieri and former Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve.

Completely without racing genes, Vanwall presents the Vanderwell S and the more powerful brother Vanderwell S Plus, a sporty electric hatchback based on the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is intended to inspire individualists with electricity in their blood in particular. The Vanwell S is always sporty with details such as front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler as well as the powerful 22-inch wheels. The interior is as sporty as it is elegant with leather and visible carbon. The top model Vandervell S Plus is a 426 kW / 580 hp all-wheel drive vehicle that offers an electric range of 420 kilometers. From a standing start, the sports crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 265 km/h. In contrast to the normal Vandervell with 235 kW / 320 hp, a top speed of 185 km/h and a range of 450 kilometers, the Vandervell S Plus is limited to 50 vehicles. The two hatchbacks are produced in Greding, Bavaria.

The models will be marketed directly via delivery partners at prices starting at 152,000 euros and will be delivered from the third quarter of 2023. The freely selectable body color can be combined with one of five interiors. Vanwall Managing Director Colin Kolles: "Vanwall's goal is to develop unique, new generation vehicles with high quality and great performance, capable of conveying the strong passion that defines the Vanwall company." plans to produce a limited edition version of the Vanwall Vandervell 1000 Hypercar, a street-legal LM hypercar. The vehicle is currently under development and has already passed several road and race tests.
