Eurozone: Consumer sentiment improves surprisingly significantly

Surprisingly, consumer sentiment in the euro zone brightened significantly in November from a low level. The indicator increased by 3.6 points to minus 23.9 points compared to the previous month, as the EU Commission announced on Tuesday. Experts had expected an average of minus 26 points.

The indicator is still well below its long-term average. It's the second straight rise and the highest in five months. The lowest level ever recorded was reached in September at minus 28.8 points. Consumer sentiment also recovered in the EU as a whole.
