Aircraft construction: Boeing delivered more jets than Airbus in the first quarter

US planemaker Boeing delivered more passenger and cargo jets in the first quarter than its European rival Airbus. A total of 130 machines found their way to their customers, as Boeing announced on Tuesday in Arlington.

The world's largest aircraft manufacturer Airbus came up with 127 machines. In March, too, Boeing was just ahead of Airbus with 61 with 64 delivered jets.

When it comes to new orders, however, the Europeans have been ahead of the curve so far this year. The Dax group received new orders for 156 aircraft in the first quarter, while Boeing had 120. After deducting cancellations, Airbus had 142 orders, with Boeing remaining 56.
