Air India: Bank manager is said to have peed on a passenger on the flight – and is fired

A manager at the major US bank Wells Fargo is said to have misbehaved on a flight and now has to face the consequences. The Indian was traveling by plane from New York to New Delhi. During the 14-hour flight, he is said to have peed on a fellow passenger while intoxicated.

The 72-year-old woman who was sitting in the seat next to the man immediately complained to the flight crew. The manager, who holds a senior position at Wells Fargo's Indian subsidiary in Mumbai, then offered to have the clothes and luggage cleaned and compensate them financially. While his lawyer claims an out-of-court settlement was reached, the victim has filed an official complaint with Air India.

In it she described the incident, which took place at the end of November, according to the Times of India: "My clothes, shoes and bag were soaked with urine. The flight attendant followed me to my seat. The airline then called the police, confirmed the smell of urine and sprayed disinfectant spray on my bag and shoes." She accuses the flight crew of not having reacted appropriately and that their safety "was not guaranteed".

The airline then turned on the police, who are investigating. However, it is unclear where the bank manager is. But he is already experiencing the professional consequences of his unacceptable actions: Wells Fargo has fired the man. "We find these allegations deeply disturbing," the bank said.

The airline is also working on the events internally - especially since a similar scene recently occurred on a flight from Paris to New Delhi. The Air India boss admitted that "the incidents were better handled". As a first measure, a pilot and four crew members were suspended.
