At the end of their custody in the investigation into violence at a restaurant in a Burger King in Paris in 2018, four CRS were indicted for voluntary violence by a person agent of the public authority. Two of the four CRS are also prosecuted for voluntary violence with incapacity for work of less than eight days per person agent of the public authority meeting, and with a weapon. The four police officers have been freed under judicial control. The events took place on December 1, 2018, during act III of the yellow Vests. Thirty protesters and a few journalists had found refuge in a Burger King near the Arc de Triomphe, at the end of a day of action marked by much violence. A dozen of CRS were entered in the fast-food and had been struck violently several demonstrators, some lying on the ground, using batons, a scene filmed by several journalists.

The CRS of Chalon-sur-Saône

in This case, seen as emblematic of the excesses of the maintenance of order in the face of the yellow Vests, had led to the opening of an investigation, entrusted to the general Inspectorate of the national police (IGPN). An investigating judge had been appointed in may 2019.
