Vilhelm Hammershøi's painting 'Interior from Strandgade 30' was on Tuesday evening it the most expensive painting ever sold in Denmark.

"We are overnud happy and satisfied. We have offered and sold a painting, which is the most expensive ever, at Bruun Rasmussen," says Kasper Nielsen, the evaluation and the owner of the auction house, shortly after the hammer falls.
He tells that he had several of Hammershøi's works at auction on Tuesday night, where the big set all been sold for nicely over estimate.
another high flier at the auction was the 'Naked Female Model' by Hammershøi, which went to more than twice the amount of the assessment and was sold for 4.3 million dollars.
It is not the first time that the Danish painter's works have been sold for large amounts. In 2017 went 'Interior with a woman with a piano, Strandgade 30' from 1901 to twice the amount of its assessment and was sold for 39.5 million dollars at auction in Sotheby's in New York city.
so far, the most expensive painting that has been sold at home, was a painting by Edvard Munch in 1891 at a cost of 6.9 million dollars in 2006.
