Spain was fought in 2019 the fall production of vehicles that were Germany (9%), Italy (19,6%) and the Uk (14.4 per cent). Saved by a hair, with a growth of just 0.1% which stood the volume of assembly of vehicles in the 2.8 million vehicles. The weakness of the international markets and the Spanish are behind this stagnation, which, despite everything, is a much better outcome than the 1% decline it suffered in 2018.

The improvement is explained essentially by one factor: the allocation of new models in the last two years, which means an increase of the production to take on the demands of the market. Anfac, employers ' association, which brings together the brands present in Spain, foresees a moderate growth this year, thanks to the fact that spain will continue to benefit from the new models that will arrive at the production plants.

In the same line of the production, the export of passenger cars grew by 0.3% during the year and amounted to 1,867 million units, which represents around 84% of the total. In contrast, als exports of commercial vehicles increased by 6.3%, and stood at the 259.914 units.
