On the morning of Wednesday 29 July, the forces of order, leaving the vast encampment of migrants located at the edge of the canal Saint-Denis in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) where more than 1 500 people were gradually installed in recent weeks. The operation of the evacuation and sheltering of migrants to different accommodation centres and gyms in Ile-de-France began shortly after 6 p.m. and should conclude at 8 hours, said the prefecture of police, who invoked, in particular the health risk to justify the evacuation.

800 tents installed
The makeshift camp where more than 800 tents were installed, is mostly made up of men only, originating in the Horn of Africa or Afghanistan. Many are previously passed through to other camps in Paris, successively dismantled, but who can recreate a little further away, in the north suburb.
