Nurse assaulted in a bus : two minors presented to a judge - The Point

They are suspected of assaulting a nurse Tuesday 11 August, when she had asked to wear a mask and that they were in a bus. The two teenagers 16 years of age have been presented to a judge for children, Thursday, after two days of police custody. The public prosecutor has requested their indictment for violence, aggravated. The pre-trial detention has been requested.

According to a source close to the investigation, they would have slapped and kicked the victim. The events took place in Neuilly-sur-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis. One of the two has a criminal record for acts of extortion and violence. With "numerous superficial wounds and bruises," the nurse had refused to be taken in charge by the fire department. Five days of total incapacity to work (ITT) have been prescribed. The alleged assailants were unaware of the business exercised by this passenger, according to the source close to the investigation.

" The vocation of a carer does not stop at the doors of the hospital or firm. This is precious. It is a generous one. This protects us all. Shame and anger that this can reap in return, that violence, loose and infamous. Support and affection for this nurse ", has tweeted the Health minister, Olivier Véran.

A series of attacks

in recent weeks, attacks linked to non-compliance of the mandatory wearing of the mask are multiplied, especially in transport. On July 10, Philippe Monguillot, bus driver at Bayonne, died after he was severely beaten and seriously injured in the head. He had wanted to control the ticket of a person, and had required the wearing of the mask for three other passengers. On 31 July, a minor who is suspected of having punched a bus driver of Orleans was put in examination for " violence on the person in charge of a public service mission ".

The day before, a fight had broken out in a tram from Dijon between users and a driver of a tram who had asked to wear a mask. Friday, in the Val-d'oise, three men have also been indicted, including two for violence, aggravated after the attack with blows of the stick in a laundry Soisy-sous-Montmorency (Val-d'oise), a man who had asked another customer to comply with the port of the mask. The assault had been filmed by cctv cameras and the minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin had denounced images, " unbearable ".
